Bargain hunters looking for a big 27-foot family cruiser with a low price found much to like in the Rinker 270 Fiesta Vee. This is a boat that offered a lot of bang for the buck when she was new with many of the features found in boats that cost considerably more money. Built on a solid fiberglass modified-V hull with a wide 9'1" beam, the Rinker 270 is not trailerable (without a permit, that is) like many 27-footers. The interior is arranged like most midcabin cruisers her size with a convertible dinette/V-berth forward, complete galley, enclosed head with shower, and a double berth aft with a curtain for privacy. The single-level cockpit—updated in 2002 with a wet bar and double helm seat—has lounge seating aft and a transom door. Standard features include a walk-through windshield, electric engine hatch (which is actually part of the rear seat) windshield wiper, and transom shower. Among many sterndrive engine choices, a single 300hp MerCruiser 6.2L will cruise the 270 Fiesta Vee in the low 20s and top out at 35+ knots.
